Institutional Communication Service
19 December 2022
USI wishes a Merry Christmas and a Happy 2023 with a fresco from the Church of San Carlo in Negrentino (town of Acquarossa, Blenio Valley) the subject of scientific publications and student group visits.
The educational and research activities of USI bring to light the heritage of the region.
Holiday greetings from the Deputy Rector Lorenzo Cantoni.
Dear members of the university community,
Dear students,
the last week of the semester begins today.
Once again, this year on our campuses, you have had the opportunity to broaden the scientific knowledge in your course of study and get to know other people, cultures, and worldviews. I am sure that this 2022 has had a significant impact on your cultural, professional and personal growth.
That at USI is an enriching journey, in and out of the classroom, that will leave a profound mark on each of you. Moreover, it is a prized experience confirmed by more students choosing our university: for the fourth consecutive time, we are experiencing record numbers in matriculations (https://www.usi.ch/it/feeds/23751).
It is an honour and a great responsibility for us: thank you to each enrollee for choosing us and to the members of the academic community for their work and contribution to reaching this important milestone!
I wish you and your families a Merry Christmas with this peculiar image from Ticino's art history, which is also the subject of scholarly publications of our Institute of History and Theory of Art and Architecture and a destination for groups of students.
I look forward to seeing you in 2023 after the break with renewed energy and the desire to keep growing.
Best regards,
Prof. Lorenzo Cantoni
Deputy Rector
