The 20th QS World University Rankings, which list the best universities in the world, have been released by QS Quacquarelli Symonds. These rankings use a methodology that factors in various aspects of a university, such as academic and employer reputation, as well as diversity among students and faculty. USI has been ranked 328th among 1500 universities and is 8th in Switzerland.
USI, Università della Svizzera italiana is currently ranked 328th globally this year. Additionally, it ranks 11th worldwide for its international student population and 23rd for international faculty. USI also ranks 229th in citations per faculty and 120th in the faculty-student ratio marker.
The QS World University Rankings is a highly recognised academic ranking system, along with the Times Higher Education, which also includes USI. These rankings are based on a comprehensive analysis of a large amount of data, which includes bibliometric data (citations and references in scientific publications), research impact, teaching quality, and international perspective.
In celebration of the twentieth anniversary of the ranking QS has introduced three new metrics: Sustainability, Employment Outcomes and International Research Network, and adjusting the weighting of some existing indicators, namely Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation, and FacultyStudent Ratio.
